I’d really like to study philosophy. I’ve always wanted to but now it seems like more than just a fanciful idea that’s forever in the future. This life would be a waste if I didn’t.  This is a rather pressing matter.

Guided by Voices – Game of Pricks

I’m not sure how I missed Guided by Voices all these years but one of their songs came on at the end of an IT Crowd episode last night and I was hooked.

Some desperate googling and I discovered the tune was Game of Pricks. It was recorded on a four-track cassette machine in 1995, which lends itself nicely to the rather primitive feel of the song.

Robert Pollard wastes no time dicking about with a preamble, which is brilliant because you don’t have to stick around for ages for the tune to emerge.
