Submit Music Reviews

First of all thank you for showing interest in contributing music reviews to Laidbackness. Digging out fine bands from underground can be slightly difficult at times — especially when you work a full time job and study (at times). When someone I know offered to contribute to Laidbackness, I was more than happy to say yes. I thought — in a real moment of epiphany — that I should probably extend an invite to all the indie and alternative music lovers out there to submit their reviews, play lists, ideas, thoughts, news or anything pertaining to the best genres of music! So here goes:

General Guidelines

  • I would appreciate if all entries stick to the genre. I get a lot of hate mail for this but here goes: I really do not think that Green Day, Linkin Park, Sum 41, Simple Plan, etcetera are alternative. [Long pause] There. I said it.
  • Hip-hop bashing is alright as long as it is not offensive to anyone.
  • Know how that Xpress 2 song goes — My English professor has no concern for my purity of expression? Yeah. Don’t worry too much about language or grammar. As long as the content makes sense everyone’s pretty much okay. The idea is to share thoughts on music and not to make research scholars look bad.
  • Please don’t start and end your review with “This band is epic dude”. Minimum 180-200 characters suits LB just fine. There is no length restriction in case of a play list.
  • And most importantly, all entries must be written by you. LB despises plagiarism and legal battles.

What’s in it for You?

  • Chance to express your point of view on your favourite music.
  • All articles written by you will bear your name at the bottom as a signature (Actually not sure if it will be at the bottom. It can be anywhere really). I will be more than happy to post a brief intro about you along with your photograph and link it to your article, i.e. only if you want me to. (If you want me to link to your website you will have to link back to me. Heh. What’s fair is fair.)
  • Occasional sharing of music :)
